TRANSIENT Impulsfestival 2026: Steinfelder Resonanzen

Kloster Steinfeld / Eifel
22. & 23. Mai 2026

As part of the TRANSIENT project “Music for Places”, the Northern Eifel will become a resonant space for new sounds and artistic encounters between 2026 and 2029. District Administrator Markus Ramers has agreed to act as patron.
The TRANSIENT Impulsfestival 2026 “Steinfelder Resonanzen”, under the artistic direction of Prof. Jeremias Schwarzer, draws inspiration from Bad Münstereifel and Nettersheim over the Pentecost weekend and presents it in special performance formats at Steinfeld Abbey – three locations rich in history, character and a unique atmosphere come together in one-of-a-kind concert experiences.

Supported by the German Federal Cultural Foundation’s “LOKAL” programme, this is more than just a festival: TRANSIENT brings together young artists from Germany and across Europe. Musicians, composers and sound artists meet, exchange ideas and develop new works – inspired by the landscape, architecture and local people.

In this way, contemporary music and creativity become an immediate experience. They enter into dialogue with nature, historic spaces and well-known works from music history – whilst simultaneously offering a glimpse into the future.

In this way, creativity can be experienced by all as a future oriented source.
